Black Elegance — Where Strength Meets Grace in Vintage CHANEL
Black has an enduring presence, and vintage Chanel is one of our favorite ways to see it. Here are five pieces we selected for this story.
1. Caviar leather chain tote
Low-sheen caviar leather, flat quilting drawn in stitches, and black hardware give the chain tote its structured silhouette and quiet presence.
2. Spring/Summer 1999 coat
The black linen-blend coat falls in a straight line, with subtly reflective CC buttons.
3. Sheer panel dress
From the 2010 pre-fall Paris–Shanghai collection, the dress pairs a wool and angora body with sheer silk sleeves. A blue Gripoix CC button accents the asymmetrical neckline.
4. Knit camisole
This camisole is a near-black navy, with beige contrast and soft chiffon details. It’s easy to layer throughout the year.
