HERMÈS Touareg Belt

What HERMÈS has long cherished is not mere luxury,
but a deep respect for culture and craftsmanship.
“Touareg” is a special line inspired by the traditional craft of the Tuareg people,
nomads of the Sahara Desert.
First introduced in the 1997 “L’Afrique” collection,
it continues to hold a quiet and enduring appeal.

The intricate patterns engraved on the buckle are entirely hand-carved.
Lines that are not perfectly uniform, subtle variations, differences in depth.
There is a sense of “breath” that machines can never replicate.
The material is sterling silver (SV925).
With time and wear, the surface gains depth,
and the engraved patterns emerge with greater dimension.
Notably, the silverwork is not produced within HERMÈS ateliers,
but by Tuareg artisans who carry on their traditional techniques.
It is through this intersection of the maison’s aesthetic and local culture
that this distinct presence is created.
Even within the same model, each pattern is unique.
No two engravings are ever the same.
A true testament to handcraft rather than mass production.
A design that can be worn regardless of gender.
It reveals its character most beautifully in a refined, minimal style.
The quiet luxury of choosing one that is entirely your own.
